Kristof Magnusson

is an Icelandic-German writer and translator who was born in Hamburg in 1976 to German-Icelandic parents and lives in Berlin. He trained as a church musician with the Protestant Church of North Elbia and did community service with Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste e. V. in New York City in social work with Holocaust survivors and the homeless. This was followed by studies at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and the University of Reykjavík. Magnusson writes novels- Zuhause (Kunstmann, 2005), Das war ich nicht (Kunstmann, 2010), Arztroman (Kunstmann, 2014), Ein Mann der Kunst (Kunstmann, 2020) – and plays, and translates from Icelandic. He is committed to literature in simple language and curates literary events.
