Barbora Schnelle
studied theatre studies and aesthetics/cultural studies in Brno, Berlin and Vienna and completed her doctorate with a thesis on the plays of Elfriede Jelinek. In 2001 she moved from Brno, Czech Republic, to Berlin and has since worked as a freelance theatre translator (German-Czech, both ways), theatre critic, cultural manager and editor. She is co-founder of Drama Panorama: Forum for Translation and Theatre, within the framework of which she has held a number of events as artistic director. In 2014 she founded the festival for contemporary Czech theatre in Berlin, Ein Stück: Tschechien, which she has curated and co-produced ever since.
