Anna Opel
a freelance author, cultural journalist and literary translator living in Berlin. She completed her doctorate with a thesis on contemporary drama at the Free University of Berlin and subsequently worked as a dramaturge at the DeutschesTheater, in the independent scene and at the publishing house Felix Bloch Erben. As an author, she works in various genres: novel, literary biography and audio walk, and she translates mainly American drama by Tracy Letts, Christopher Durang and Will Eno. As a guest lecturer, she taught Theatre Translation in the Scenic Writing programme at the University of the Arts in the summer semester 2022 and winter semester 2022-23. She is currently translating works created in the context of New York’s Living Theatre.
