Birgit Schneider

is a cultural and media scientist and teaches as a professor at the University of Potsdam. Her work focuses on images and ways of perceiving the climate between science, politics, art and the media, the communication of climate change, images of ecology and questions of natural aesthetics. Her monograph Climate Images. A Genealogy of Global Image Politics of Climate and Climate Change was published by Matthes & Seitz in 2018, the book Der Anfang einer neuen Welt. Wie wir uns vom Klimawandel erzählen, ohne zu verstummen also by Matthes & Seitz 2023.
