Isabel Fargo Cole

born in the USA in 1973, has lived in Berlin since 1995 as an author and translator from German, including Annemarie Schwarzenbach, Wolfgang Hilbig, Franz Fühmann and Adalbert Stifter. Her debut novel Die grüne Grenze (Edition Nautilus, 2017) was nominated for the 2018 Leipzig Book Fair Prize. This was followed by the novel Das Gift der Biene (Edition Nautilus, 2019) and the long essay Die Goldküste. Eine Irrfahrt (Matthes und Seitz, 2022). For her prose work, she was awarded the A und A Kulturstiftung Literature Prize in 2023. Cole is also the initiator of the project www.waldschaffen.de.
