Oleksandra Hryhorenko
is a Ukrainian translator. She studied German at the Korolenko Pedagogical University in Poltava and, after a DAAD doctoral scholarship, completed her doctorate at the Free University of Berlin on novels by Elfriede Jelinek. She translates fiction, essay writing and popular science as well as youth and children’s books from German into Ukrainian, among others by Elfriede Jelinek, Dragica Rajčić, Joseph Beuys, Andreas Bernard, Ilona Einwohlt, Jörg Mühle, Ingo Siegner and Wolf Erlbruch. In addition, she works for the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation as a local staff member in Ukraine.
