Urška P. Černe
born 1971 in Maribor, has lived as a freelance translator and publicist in Ljubljana, Graz, Berlin, Innsbruck and Gorje near Bled. Since 2008 she has been a lecturer in the subjects of translation of humanities texts and literary translation at the University of Maribor, Institute for Translation Studies. From 2005 to 2017 and again from 2022, she was a seminar mentor for “Literary Translation Premuda” in Graz. Since 2004 she has been the director and co-founder of the PRANGER Poetry Criticism Festival and since 2019 the founder of the PREVODNI PRANGER (Pranger Translatio) Translation Festival. Since 2011 she has been writing academic articles and giving lectures, including at the ICLA World Congress in Vienna 2016 or the TRANS Summer Academy 2017.
